Sound Therapist + Leadership Coach
Lucia Luminate is a multifaceted Sound Practitioner and Executive Coach who combines sound therapy with adaptive leadership practices to guide individuals on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and mental clarity.
With a background in Music Education from NYU and specialized training in sound healing techniques, Lucia infuses her sessions with instruments like singing bowls, tuning forks, and chimes to create a soundscape that facilitates deep exploration of the subconscious mind.
As a woman of faith, Lucia advocates for an approach that goes beyond traditional sound baths. She encourages clients to establish intentions for transformation and clarity before expertly guiding them to reach the theta brainwave state, where profound healing and insights can undoubtedly occur. Lucia's clients praise her spiritual and intuitive maturity, noting her natural, process-driven approach that fosters personal growth and insight.
the mission:
illuminating truth within to inspire individual transformation, communal harmony, and collective unity through faith
My Story
LUCIA [Loo-see-uh] (noun): A female given name: From a Latin word meaning “Light”
Born in Brooklyn, NY as a first-generation Mexican-American daughter
Fell in love with learning at school at a young age as it served as one escape from the domestic abuse and sexual trauma I witnessed and experienced outside of school
Birth
“Living in a single-parent household, experiencing trauma from many angles, I prayed for an escape through music.”
Youth
Joined a community choir based in Harlem, NY, Songs of Solomon and performed at places like Carnegie Hall, The Apollo, and in places like Los Angeles, North Carolina, and even Bermuda
“God must have heard my prayers because the more I cultivated my talents, the more I witnessed the healing power of music in myself. Music made me feel more grounded in the fact that I had a purpose, growing my faith and gaining the confidence to let go of abusive and toxic relationships.”
Studied Music Education and Voice at New York University on a full-ride scholarship
Volunteered for Project Creo, an arts non-profit in Ecuador focused on using the arts as a vehicle to discover self-love and love for others. (I continued to work with them for 3 years - expanding programming to India, NY, LA, AZ)
“A visit to Ecuador triggered a spiritual revelation and led me to a path of connecting with God through sound to process and heal my sexual and intergenerational trauma while mending the unforgiveness in my heart towards my family.”
Career
Worked at Teach For America for two years
Continued work at education-based non-profits at DonorsChoose.org where I raised over $7M for public school teachers from corporations and foundations, and managed complex projects in a fast-paced & high-stakes environment
Joined Coro Leadership NY, a 9-month adaptive leadership training program
Pivoted from non-profit to the social enterprise sector by joining the sales team at FreeWill, a fin-tech start-up
Enrolled in business classes with NYC Small Business Services
“With my eyes at the top of the corporate ladder, I was seeking to find the next promotion wherever I could, all the while trying on every personal wellness trend, lifestyle philosophy, and self-help book I could get my hands on.”
Enrolled at the Maha Rose Sound School Levels 1 & 2 in 2019 and learned how sound affects our brains, nervous system and impacts our overall wellness
“I started to use singing bowls and tuning forks in my daily morning meditations, giving sound baths to friends, and taking time to intentionally rewire old subconscious thoughts and habits while connecting deeper with God, and to my delight, it worked, really well.”
Quit my 9-to-5 after recognizing my deteriorating mental health
Enrolled at Moving Worlds Institute, a fellowship for global leaders to learn and practice social change frameworks such as human-centered design, cross-cultural collaboration, and systems thinking
I nomadically traveled across the country, dismantling the definitions of success that systematic oppression taught me. Finally stepping into the fullness of my calling
Change
“As I attempted to discover the next steps in my career, I thought, “What if I put my money where my heart is and serve other leaders by combining my sound healing work and adaptive leadership training experience?”
SOUND
Fearlessly launched LMN Advisory LLC, also known as Lucia Luminate, to fully embrace my talents, gifts, and dedication to serving other leaders and creatives.
Successfully piloted offerings with countless coaches, teachers, musicians, and mentors bringing my business to a new level.
Based in the vibrant city of NYC, I have the privilege of working with clients from all corners of the world, connecting through online and in-person 1:1 sessions, private gatherings, and corporate events.
“As a Sound Therapist and Leadership Coach, the dream is to empower leaders to break intergenerational trauma, and transform systems. I love to work with leaders who know that in order to change the world, they must first change within themselves.”
