A first-generation, Mexican American Brooklynite now living in nomadically, Lucia serves leaders and change-makers by harnessing the scientific and spiritual properties of sound, facilitating adaptive leadership practices, and human-centered design to help them heal through trauma, transform limiting beliefs, and receive mental clarity.
After graduating from NYU’s Music Education program and years of advancing along the corporate ladder in the social enterprise and non-profit sectors, Lucia rediscovered the healing power of music, science, and sound while studying at Maha Rose in New York City. These tools gave her the space to further investigate her authentic truth and core beliefs. She now shares these tools with leaders in various fields.
As a Sound Therapist and Leadership Coach, Lucia combines her unique experiences to tackle transforming the systems in our country through adaptive leaders who know that in order to change the world, they must change within themselves.

MY STORY
Birth
LUCIA [Loo-see-uh] (noun): A female given name: From a Latin word meaning “Light”
Born in Brooklyn, NY as a first-generation Mexican-American daughter
Fell in love with learning at school at a young age as it served as one escape from the domestic abuse and sexual trauma I witnessed and experienced outside of school
Living in a single-parent household, experiencing trauma from many angles, I prayed for an escape through music.
Youth
Joined a community choir based in Harlem, NY, Songs of Solomon and performed at places like Carnegie Hall, The Apollo, and in places like Los Angeles, North Carolina, and even Bermuda
God must have heard my prayers because the more I cultivated my talents, the more I witnessed the healing power of music in myself. Music made me feel more grounded in the fact that I had a purpose, growing my faith and gaining the confidence to let go of abusive and toxic relationships.
Studied Music Education and Voice at New York University on a full-ride scholarship
Volunteered for Project Creo, an arts non-profit in Ecuador focused on using the arts as a vehicle to discover self-love and love for others. (I continued to work with them for 3 years - expanding programming to India, NY, LA, AZ)
An unplanned plant medicine ceremony triggered a spiritual revelation and led me to a path of healing my sexual and intergenerational trauma while mending the unforgiveness in my heart towards my family.
Career
Worked at Teach For America for two years until my whole team was laid off
Continued my work at education-based non-profits at DonorsChoose.org where I raised over $7M for public school teachers from corporations and foundations, and managed complex projects in a fast-paced & high-stakes environment
Joined Coro Leadership NY, a 9-month adaptive leadership training program
Pivoted from non-profit to the social enterprise sector by joining the sales team at FreeWill, a fin-tech start-up
Enrolled in business classes with NYC Small Business Services
With my eyes at the top of the corporate ladder, I was seeking to find the next promotion wherever I could, all the while trying on every personal wellness trend, lifestyle philosophy, and self-help book I could get my hands on.
Change
Enrolled at the Maha Rose Sound School Levels 1 & 2 in 2019 and learned how sound affects our brains, nervous system and impacts our overall wellness
I started to use singing bowls and tuning forks in my daily morning meditations, giving sound baths to friends, and taking time to intentionally rewire old subconscious thoughts and habits while connecting deeper with God, and to my delight, it worked, really well.
Moved into my partner’s apartment in the middle of the epicenter of the covid pandemic, Queens, NY
Quit my 9-to-5 after recognizing my deteriorating mental health
Enrolled at Moving Worlds Institute, a fellowship for global leaders to learn and practice social change frameworks such as human-centered design, cross-cultural collaboration, and systems thinking
As I attempted to discover the next steps in my career, I thought, “What if I put my money where my heart is and serve other leaders by combining my sound healing work and adaptive leadership training experience?”
SOUND
Started LMN Advisory LLC, aka Lucia Luminate as an act of audacity of stepping into my gifts, worth, and service
Landed in Denver, CO in a leap of faith with my partner where I actively worked on dismantling the definitions of success that systematic oppression taught me
Piloted offerings with coaches, teachers, and mentors to bring you the offerings I have today
Currently working with clients around the globe online and in-person via 1:1 sessions and private and corporate events.
As a Sound Therapist and Leadership Coach, I seek to transform systems in our world through adaptive leaders who know that in order to change the world, they must change within themselves.
